Baton Rouge, Louisiana, July 2 - Schwegmann bows out from Burbank debate - Senator John Schwegmann of New Orleans (left photo) faces newsmen on his way from the Senate chamber in Baton Rouge after he refused to listen to remarks by Louisiana State Police Superintendent Tom Burbank (right photo) as he was answering earlier charges by Schwegmann that the state police was lax in enforcement of gambling and prostitution laws. Schwegmann attempted to withdraw his earlier resolution attacking the state police and when that failed, he refused to stay and hear Burbank's remarks before a Senate committee.

Photo is dated 1968.

Photo measures 10 x 7.75 inches.
