Washington, May 2 - Pondering a question - White House lawyer James St. Clair pauses for a moment before answering a question during a White House briefing Wednesday. St. Clair said he will move to quash a Watergate prosecution subpoena for 64 additional White House tapes. He also disclosed that the House Judiciary Committee is seeking more than 140 tapes for its impeachment inquiry.
