U.S. Ambassador Johnson inspects embassy damage, Vietnam. Small wounds can be seen on face of Deputy U.S. Ambassador to South Vietnam, U. Alexis Johnson, as he inspects damage inflicted on embassy building in Saigon on Tuesday by a huge bomb. Johnson is the senior U.S. official at the embassy while Ambassador Maxwell D. Taylor is in Washington. Johnson and many others in embassy building were injured by firing glass and bricks when bomb exploded. At least two Americans and several Vietnamese were killed.
