Soviet Union state pendants installed on the Venus 9 spacecraft. These pendants, showing the Soviet Union's state emblems, were installed on the landing capsule of the Venus 9 space station which landed on the hot and dusty surface of Venus Wednesday, Tass announced. The capsule was softlanded on the planet by the unmanned spacecraft which went into orbit Monday as Venus' first artificial satellite, the news agency said. Moscow, Russia
