1974 Press Photo Security Guard Points Gun at Man with Hostage, Hollywood

Prize winning news photograph Anthony K. Roberts, a freelancer from Beverly Hills, California, won the Pulitzer Price for the best spot new photo with this picture of the death of a man while holding a hostage in a Hollywood parking lost. Security guard George Derby aims an automatic at Edward F. Fisher's head while Fisher held a knife to the throat of Ellen Sheldon, whom he was trying to kidnap.
