1959 Press Photo Cop Killer Alexander Robillard Admits Crime at News Conference

Redwood City, California, November 18 - Real life drama unfolded - A real life drama was unfolded today as Alexander Robillard XIV, 19, fumbling with a handkerchief, broke down and cried as he told how he killed a policeman who stopped him on a lonely road in a stolen car. Robillard held a press conference in courtroom adjacent to one in which a jury is taking evidence in order to help judge decide whether he should die in the state gas chamber or be sent to prison. Robillard surprised the court with an admission of guilt as his trial began Monday.
