1966 Press Photo U.S. Aid Mission's Douglas Ramsey before Viet Cong kidnapping

Douglas Ramsey, 28-year-old Boulder City, Nevada, United States Aid Mission representative in Vietnam, talks to Vietnamese soldiers and their families during a visit to an outpost near Bao Trai, capital of Hau Nghia province, early in January. Today he was kidnapped by the Viet Cong while driving the road between Cu Chi and Trung Lap in the same province. A three-year veteran of Aid Mission duties in Vietnam, he speaks the native language fluently.
