Diver Paula Pope smiles after Olympic trials in Michigan. Paula Jean Pope, 24, had a big smile for the cameraman at Detroit today after she took a commanding lead into the finals of the three-meter springboard diving of the U.S. Olympics Swimming and Diving Trials. She piled up 461.35 points in the morning preliminaries and semifinals. The last three dives were to be performed later today with two berths on the Olympic team at stake. Paula is from Los Angeles. She is aiming for her third Olympics.
