Dr. Michael Ramsey, Archbishop of Canterbury and spiritual head of the Church of England, will leave office November 15, the day after his 70th birthday, the Church announced Monday. Dr. Ramsey's 13 years as the 100th Archbishop of Canterbury have been marked by outspoken comments on social and political issues and efforts for interchurch unity, including a historic 1966 meeting with Pope Paul VI in Rome.
