1967 Press Photo Charles Murphy resigns as Civil Aeronautics Board chairman

Charles S. Murphy today said he will resign early next year as chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Board and will be available for part-time White House work. Murphy was appointed by President Johnson to the CAB post in June of 1965. "If there is something the President wants me to do part-time, he has first claim on my services," said Murphy at a news conference.
