Dallas, Texas. Senator Edmund Muskie of Maine acknowledges applause from the state AFL-CIO meeting here in Dallas Wednesday. Before the scheduled speech, Muskie held an impromptu press conference in the hall-way of Memorial Auditorium; welcoming Mayor John LIndsay of New York into the Democratic Party. Senator Muskie and Senator Henry Jackson, (Dem.) from Washington were the first of six United States Senators to address the three day convention.
