1961 Press Photo Schilder's disease victim Brenda Sue Priddy receives gifts

Brenda Sue Priddy, who will be 8 on January 22, is surrounded by some of the more than 20,000 cards, letters and gifts sent here by newspaper readers coast to coast, from Australia, England and European countries. The youngster is dying of Schilder's disease, a paralysis of the brain and nervous system. The mail started pouring in a week ago after Brenda's mother asked people to write to the youngster.
