1964 Press Photo Delta rocket propels Explorer 26 into orbit from Cape Kennedy

A three-stage 90-foot-tall Delta rocket blasts into the early morning darkness today, propelling the Explorer 26 satellite toward orbit. Explorer 26 packs five experiments to study natural and man-made radiation which surrounds the earth.
