New Civil Aeronautics Chairman John Robson, Chicago lawyer. John Robson, above, has been picked by President Ford as chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Board. Robson, a Chicago lawyer, served in the Department of Transportation in the Johnson administration. If confirmed by the Senate, he would serve out the term of Whitney Gillilland, who retired, and would replace Richard O'Melia, acting chairman, who would remain a board member.
