1974 Press Photo Samuel Poole with mother on release from NC Central Prison

Samuel A. Poole walks away from North Carolina's Central Prison today with his weeping mother hanging onto his coat lapels. Poole has been on death row since August of last year convicted of first degree burglary. Last week his conviction was reversed by the North Carolina Supreme Court.
