Willie Ray, a 29-year-old skydiver from Monroe, looks over the reserve parachute that saved his life when the main chute malfunctioned. This occurred during a jump as part of the Confederate Air Force World War II Air Show near Fort Worth on Sunday. Spectators did not see the reserve chute open and did not know Ray had been saved.

Photo is dated 1970.

Photo measures 8 x 9 inches.
