Description
Bill Riordan, above, has been dubbed the new P.T. Barnum of tennis, a maverick who has been snubbed and scorned by most of the leading figures in the game. In 1972 his friends advised him to get out of tennis because they felt he was hurting the game. Through perseverance he emerged a success, crowned by a contract he negotiated, worth more than $1 million for a nationally televised challenge match in April between Jimmy Connors, his protege, and John Newcombe of Australia.

Photo is dated 1975.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
