1974 Press Photo Druse Israeli prisoner released by Syria after 24 years

One of 19 Druse Israelis freed by Syria Thursday after 24 years imprisonment is embraced in the Golan Heights village of Masada Israel. The 19 were captured in Damascus in 1950 and convicted of spying for Israel. Syrian President Hafez Assad commuted their life imprisonment sentences after meeting with United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger during Kissinger's recent Mideast peace conferences.
