Young Powell, a student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, sat in the front row along side Warren McCann, of New York City. More than 3,000 persons jammed the church to cheer for Representative Powell who faces a challenge to his chairmanship of the House Education and Labor Committee. The congressman was not present.
