1973 Press Photo Round apartment complex in Moscow's Matveyevsky district.

This unusual apartment house complex has been constructed in the Matveyevsky district of Moscow. The circular building contains 900 apartments, accommodating families of different sizes, numbering 4,000 persons in all. Ground floor is reserved for service establishments, shops, a drug store and library. Sports courts and a children's playground are to be laid out in the interior courtyard (163 yards in diameter). The play area will have a micro-climate of its own as cold winter winds will not be able to penetrate the outer construction.
