John Napoli, rescue here in the sinking of the Navy hospital ship Benevolence 11 years ago, is shown in San Francisco last night, as he talked about the $25,000 rewarded him by Congress. Napoli, 57, former crab fisherman was injured and suffered financial losses as result of h is rescuing 70 persons. The Benevolence and the freighter Mary Luckenback collided in dense fog off the Golden Gate in 1950. Twenty-four persons were killed. The reward, voted by Congress repays him, in part, for the loss of his work as a top fisherman.
