Roger, a husky 40-pound raccoon, old and crotchety, climbs a roof at home of Miss Elizabeth Lownsbury, a Philadelphia attorney, while firemen were fighting a blaze at the home. Roger, who has been making his home in the house's attic, just wanted to be left alone but the firemen wouldn't let him elope. Roger nearly bowled over several firemen, finally escaping to the ground where he charged--and scattered--a crowd of cheering spectators. When last seen, Roger was heading for the woods.

Photo is dated 1960.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
