1969 Press Photo David Packard inspects South Vietnamese training center

During a visit to the largest South Vietnamese army training center in Vietnam, United States Deputy Secretary of Defense David Packard, squatting at left, watches a heavily camouflaged recruit training with an M16 rifle Wednesday. Packard visited the center, which is at Quang Trung, eight miles northwest of Saigon, while on a one-week tour of South Vietnam.
