1961 Press Photo Lillian Rogers Parks recounts White House experience in book

Mrs. Lillian Rogers Parks, a White House maid with 30 years service there, is shown in a recent picture. She recounts her experiences in a book to be published Monday. The book, entitled "My Thirty Years Backstage at the White House," tells of the experiences of her mother, too, who also spent 30 years as a maid at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Advance copies of the book were released just a day after the White House announced that domestic personnel pledged to refrain from publishing memoirs hereafter.
