1964 Press Photo Science teacher Ralph Reed shows home hatched ostrich in MD

Ralph E. Reed of suburban Ellicott City, a science teacher, shows off the baby ostrich she hatched with a homemade incubator. The ostrich, 36 hours old when the picture was taken, is now a foot high. A zoo bird keeper said it was amazing.
