1959 Press Photo Larry Lord Motherwell arrested in California for murder

A nation-wide manhunt for Larry Lord Motherwell ended today with him behind prison bars on a charge that he murdered Mrs. Pearl Ida Putney, 72, wealthy widow of Washington,D.C. Carrying about $60,000 cash, she left Washington with Motherwell about a year ago on a trip she called "a last fling." Her skeleton was found in Sierra County, California, August 16. Motherwell was arrested here today by FBI agents.
