1973 Press Photo Commercial production of synthetic natural gas plant in NJ

Commercial production of synthetic natural gas has been inaugurated for the first time by the Pacific Service Electric & Gas Company of New Jersey at Harrison. Pictured here is the plant, installed and being operated during the training period by the nationalized British Gas Corp. This unit produces a methane rich gas with a process known as CRG, meaning catalytic rich gas.
