1968 Press Photo Vehicular tunnel construction along Champs Elysee in Paris

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Trenches are dug along the Champs Elysee today as preliminary work begins for the construction of a vehicular tunnel that will go under the Arc de Triomphe, background, in the French capital. The two-way tunnel will run traffic from the Champs Elysee to the Avenue de la Grande Armee and vice versa instead of the overcrowded Place de l'Etoile where the arch is located.

Photo is dated 1968.

Photo measures 8 x 10 inches.
