1971 Press Photo Jewish scholar on Jesus Rabbi Neiman to teach in Rome, Italy

Rabbi Dr. David Neiman, 49, is one of America's few Jewish specialists on Jesus and the New Testament literature about Him. Neiman said a Christian, in reading the New Testament, will "not know what is really going on there" if he doesn't have a thorough knowledge of Judaism of that period. He's heading to Rome to teach for a semester at Roman Catholicism's Pontifical Gregorian University.
