Falmouth, Massachusetts. Workers hired by oil company wade along Cape Cod shoreline near Falmouth with oil boom in effort to curb pollution from an estimated 126,000 gallons of diesel fuel that leaked from grounded barge. The barge with over a half million gallons of fuel for power plant on Cape Cod Canal at Sandwich hit rocks Tuesday night. Town officials closed shellfishing in areas and said oyster and clam beds "appear to be gone."
