Chairman Marley Kilgore (D-WV) of the Senate Judiciary Committee displays the tally sheet of the 10-4 vote by which the committee today approved the nomination of Judge John Marshall Harlan to be an associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Voting for the nomination were Senators Jenner (R-IN), Dirksen (R-IL), Wiley (R-WI), Watkins (R-UT), Butler (R-MD), Daniel (D-TX), Kefauver (D-TN), Hennings (D-MO), O'Mahoney (D-MT), and Kilgore. Against: Eastland (D-MS), Johnston (D-SC), Langer (R-ND) and Welker (R-ID), Senator McClellan (D-AR) voted present.
