1960 Press Photo Soviet's Vasily Kuznetsov at United Nations news conference

Soviet Deputy Foreign Minister Vasily Kuznetsov holds news conference at United Nations headquarters in New York today after visiting United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold. Kuznetsov demanded immediate withdrawal of Canadian troops from the U.N. Congo force and attacked Hammarskjold's civilian aid program for the Congo. He also hinted of possible Soviet military aid to Congo Premier Patrice Lumumba if the United Nations force effort breaks down.
