1968 Press Photo French Daphne--class submarine, Minerve missing - now27182

The French Daphne--class submarine, Minerve,shown in a French Navy official stock photo, is missing in the Mediterranean Sea with 52 men aboard. The craft, on maneuvers off Toulon on the southern French coast, failed to return to port Saturday. A massive search is underway for the 190-foot high performance submarine.
