Honolulu--Kirby Lewellen is trying to get a job as a stenographer and work his way up to the heady heights of executive secretary. Bus so far he hasn't even been able to get into the steno pool. "All I hear when I apply for a job is, "We don't hire men as stenographers," the 25-year-old mustachioed Lewellen said in an interview Tuesday, telling of his three weeks of fruitless job-hunting in terrain traditionally reserved for women. "They don't even say why."
