Masaaki Kato of the Japanese National Institute of Mental Health told a meeting at University of Michigan International Symposium on Drug Abuse Monday that drugs left over from World War II stocks to stimulate Japanese soldiers launched the first epidemic of methamphetamine drug abuse in the world.
