1969 Press Photo McDivitt children give hand signs while watching space launch

The three oldest McDivitt children, left to right; Ann, 10; Michael, 11; and Patrick, 8;give different hands signs but all meant the same thing when asked how they thought their dad looked on television from space. The children watched the television from the lunar module of Apollo 9 at home near the Manned Spacecraft Center, Houston, Texas,today which showed their dad, Colonel James A. McDivitt and fellow crewman Astronaut Russell L. Schweickart as the flight orbited the earth.
