1956 Press Photo New Jersey Governor Meyner chats with date Helen Stevenson

New Jersey's Democratic Governor, Robert B. Meyner, chats with his date, 28-year-old Helen Stevenson, a distant cousin of Democratic presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson last night between acts of a party-announced summer stock production. The two had dated previously, at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. They denied comment as to a romance, but the governor's mother, also at the play, said, "She's a nice girl."
