1972 Press Photo National Airlines attempted hijacker McKee leaves federal court

Edmund Maddox McKee, Jr., 14, leaves federal building Tuesday in custody of his father after appearance before a U.S. Magistrate on an attempted hijacking charge. U.S. Marshals said the gun-wielding teenager was overpowered on a National Airlines ramp after the plane's captain talked him out of trying to hijack the 727 jet to Sweden. Authorities later said he told them he got the idea from television.
