1970 Press Photo Georgia Governor Maddox conducts church service in Tampa, FL

Let us pray-says Lester Maddox, Governor of Georgia, as he conducts church services today at the First Baptist Church of Temple Heights in Tampa. Bottom photo shows the governor after servings as he autographs Bibles for some of the many people who came to the pulpit after his sermon to meet him. Over 1400 filled the chapel and several hundred more people filled adjoining Sunday School rooms to watch him on closed circuit television.
