1970 Press Photo Blind musician Michael and wife claim police brutality

Michael J. Mandel, a blind musician and his wife Elizabeth, both 28, have filed a formal complaint charging that Boston police clubbed them last Sunday night. The couple say they were beaten while inside their apartment house in Back Bay section while police were breaking up a block party by Northeastern University students in street. Other charges that police used excessive force are also under investigation.
