1973 Press Photo Randy and Duane Masters, 1st and 2nd place fishing winners

Randy Masters, 16, the Greater Jacksonville Open Fishing Tournament, and his father Duane Masters, 39, took second prize. Burt Randy's prize, a boat he sold for $5,000 to finance a future education, is threatening to knock the family off welfare rolls. Masters has a congenital heart disease and is unable to work, but he says he won't spend Randy's future on food for his wife and four children until the money is gone and welfare will take him back.
