Attorney General Edward J.McCormack, Jr., (right) nephew of House Speaker John W. McCormack, listens as Edward (Ted) Kennedy, starts the opening round of their debate at South Boston High School tonight. Kennedy, youngest brother of the President won the opening speech by the toss of a coin. Kennedy's opening statement coupled the problems of Massachusetts with those of U.S. foreign policy, saying the decisions of the senate will have a direct bearing on the state's growth.
