Oldest living officer of any of the U.S. armed forces is Admiral Richard H. Jackson, a spry 104-year-old who eats three square meals a day and has a nightly sip of brandy. He's pictured at left during a Navy award ceremony several weeks ago and at right in 1926 when he became commander of the Battle Fleet, Pacific.

Photo is dated 1971.
