Senator Henry Jackson of Washington talks from his New York hotel suite Tuesday night as he checks on the returns of the state's Democratic presidential primary. Although Jackson won the primary strong showing by Jimmy Carter and Representative Morris Udall of Arizona apparently denied Jackson the sweeping victory he had sought. With returns from 43 per cent of the state's election district counted Jackson was leading for 89 of the New York Democratic convention delegates.
