Arthur R. King, 23 (left) of Wakefield, Massachusetts, is being questioned in connection with the gunshot slaying of Carl Schirmer, Jr., 22, (right) of Wellesley, Massachusetts, at Lumberton, North Carolina, on August 8. Leo L. Laughlin, special agent in charge of the Boston FBI office, said King admitted the slaying while he was being held for the interstate transportation of a stolen car. Young Schirmer, a student at the University of Jacksonville, and son of a prominent Boston music publisher, had left Florida August 8 to drive home. His body was found in the ditch later that day.
