1968 Press Photo Rescue of Julie Ann crewmen at sea off the Louisiana coast

A tugboat and Coast Guard helicopter participate in the rescue of 40 men from a crippled oil rig far out in the Gulf of Mexico off the Louisiana coast Tuesday. The rig, the Julie Ann, owned by the Dixilyn Corporation of Morgan City, Louisiana, snapped loose from the towlines during the morning and taking on water, forcing the evacuation. No one was injured.
