1964 Press Photo Leo Ledoux swims 60 miles in Atlantic Ocean - now16128

Leo Ledoux, 38-year-old ice cream vendor, who said he was jobless and depressed waded into the Atlantic Ocean at Miami Beach Monday night, planning to "swim until I went down." Thirty-six hours later he was picked up by a cabin cruiser 60 miles north of here. Ledoux said "I sort of changed my mind about dying. I started to swim back, but I guess I lost my sense of direction."
