Roger Lewis, president of General Dynamics Corporation, tells newsmen in his New York office today that his firm won the contract for the new TFX fighter plane because "ours was the better proposal." The multi-billion dollar contract, biggest for military aircraft since the end of World War II, was announced last month by the Department of Defense and was said to have brought complaints from rival bidders.
