1966 Press Photo Giacoma Cardinal Lercaro, Archbishop of Bologna resigns.

Giacomo Cardinal Lercaro has announced that he will offer his resignation as Archbishop of Bologna because of old age. He is now 74 years old. Pope Paul VI suggested earlier this month that heads of dioceses retire by age 75. Cardinal Lercaro is the first to make such an announcement.
