Edward M. Kennedy, Jr., rides on his father's back, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, D-MA, Monday as they sled down a hill in the front yard of their home in McLean, Virginia. Ted, Jr., had his right leg amputated November 17, 1973 in an attempt to arrest bone cancer.
